Former China National Petroleum Corporation Chief Wang Yilin Arrested on Suspicion of Bribery, Expelled From Party

Wang Yilin, the former Chairman of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), has been arrested on suspicion of bribery.

This was made known according to a statement from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) on Wednesday.

Wang, who also previously served as the secretary of the CNPC’s leading party members group, is now facing examination and prosecution following the conclusion of an investigation by the National Commission of Supervision.

Additionally, Wang has been expelled from the Communist Party of China, as confirmed by an official statement released in late July.

The case is now under review by prosecutors.
