Edo 2024: Focus on Your Spiritual Work, Stop Dabbling into Politics—NNPP Chieftain Slams Primate Ayodele

Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a prominent figure in the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has advised Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, to focus on his spiritual endeavors and refrain from delving into politics.

Oguntoyinbo conveyed his message through a statement released to DAILY POST on Saturday, urging the cleric to steer clear of political involvement.

This statement comes in response to Ayodele’s earlier remarks suggesting that the NNPP candidate in Edo State, Azembe Arena, would not achieve significant success in the upcoming September governorship election.

Ayodele, through his media aide Tosin Oso, asserted that Azena’s pursuit of the ambition would only result in a waste of resources.

Expressing astonishment at the cleric’s statements, Oguntoyinbo questioned the depth to which Ayodele had stooped.

He emphasized that such commentary was unexpected from someone of Ayodele’s stature.

The NNPP, through its statement, appealed to Ayodele to focus his energies on his church responsibilities and leave politics aside.

Oguntoyinbo said, “Our candidate has not come to you to solicit for help, whether spiritual or financial, while narrowing down on Azemhe. Why don’t you concentrate on your spiritual work? Why are you dabbling into politics?

“You will do well to keep to your job as a spiritual person. If you drag yourself into politics, you will be dragged into the mud and you won’t have any more respect.

“As a spiritual leader, there is an avalanche of work to do, but you leave that and concentrate on our candidate. How does it concern you if he loses his money? Did God send you to tell him that?”.
