Former U.S. Ambassador Celebrates Nigeria’s Cultures and People

 Former U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Robin Sanders, recently expressed her deep appreciation and respect for Nigeria and its people at a reception held to celebrate the 63rd Independence Day Anniversary of Nigeria. The event was organized by the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington D.C., U.S.

Sanders, who served as the United States Ambassador to Nigeria for three years, referred to Nigeria as her second home. She has been known for her active engagement with Nigerian communities in the U.S., and her recent remarks further underscore her affection for the country and its diverse cultures.

In her address, Sanders said, “Nigeria is not just a country I served in; it is my second home. The rich cultures, the warmth of its people, their resilience and spirit of enterprise, all make Nigeria a truly unique place.”

She also extended a special greeting to the ambassador of Nigeria to the United States, Amb. Uzoma Emenike, and commended her leadership qualities. “Ambassador Emenike’s leadership has been exemplary. Her dedication to strengthening the ties between our two nations is commendable,” Sanders added.
