Four Die, Nine Injured as Trucks Crash in Plateau

Four persons have died in a road accident involving two Dangote trailers which crashed in Plateau State on Tuesday.

The accident occurred in Zakaliyo community, Jos North Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday afternoon. It was also reported that the accident left nine persons injured.

The Public Education Officer of the state command of the Nigerian Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Peter Langsan, confirmed the accident to reporters.

Langsan confirmed that four people had been pulled out from the wreckage dead while those injured had been taken to the hospital.

“At the moment, our men are still conducting rescue operations at the crash site. Two Dangote trailers were involved. While the other was carrying flour, one was carrying salt.

“However, the accident involved five vehicles in total. Nine people were injured and four people had died as of the time this report was written. Five females and four males were among the injured, and they were transported to the hospital,” he stated.

Langsan cautioned drivers to refrain from transporting people in cars designed for haulage, attributing the accident to speeding.
