France President Calls For Joint Attack On Hamas

The president of France, Emmanuel Macron, has proposed launching coordinated international action against Hamas.

Macron touched down at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv on Tuesday around 4:30 GMT.

More than two weeks have passed since Hamas fighters invaded Israel, murdering at least 1,400 people, largely civilians, including roughly 30 French nationals.

He said he believed this was in the interest of Israel and its security, but equally in the interest of some neighboring countries threatened by the same or related groups.

Mr. Macron said this after a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“France is ready for the international anti-IS coalition, within which we are engaged for our mission in Iraq and Syria, to also fight Hamas.”

“I propose to our international partners that we could form a regional and international coalition to fight against the groups that threaten us all.” He said.
