The Chancellor of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Katsina State, King (Dr) Dandeson Douglas Jaja, has lamented the security challenges facing the institution, saying that the main campus is under constant threat of kidnappings and bandit attacks.

Jaja made this known during the 7th and 8th joint convocation ceremony of the university on Saturday, where he appealed to the Federal Government and other stakeholders to intervene and ensure the safety of the students and staff.

He said that the main campus, which is located about 25km away from the take-off campus, has not been fully utilized due to the security situation in the area.

He added that FUDMA has been making efforts to cope with the challenges, but it needs more support from the government and other relevant agencies.

He said, “The university management has been doing its best to ensure the smooth running of academic activities and the welfare of the university community, but we need more assistance from the government and other stakeholders to overcome these challenges and achieve our vision of becoming a world-class university.”

He also congratulated the graduating students for their achievements and urged them to be good ambassadors of the university and the nation.
