Fuel Scarcity Hits Ibadan as Long Queues Return

IBADAN

Long Queues of commercial and private vehicles, along with motorcycles and tricycles, have reappeared in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

These queues were evident early in the morning and continue to linger at the time of reporting.

Our correspondent discovered that the prolonged queues stem from a shortage of petroleum, commonly referred to as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

During observations in various parts of Ibadan, including Sango, Bodija, the University of Ibadan, Agodi-Gate, Iwo Road, Idi Ape, Apete, Awotan, Monatan, Iyana Church, and Agbowo, it was noted that most petrol stations remained closed, with only a few catering to customers.

Reports indicate that major marketers, such as NNPCL, are selling petrol at a rate of N580, while independent marketers are charging between N700 and N800 in the areas surveyed.

As of Monday’s report, long queues persist only at the few petrol stations open for business.
