The much-awaited 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) draw was held on Thursday in Abidjan’s brand-new Parc des Expositions, with Nigeria drawn against hosts Cote d’Ivoire in Group A.
With 20 teams scheduled to participate from January 13 to February 11, 2024, the draw has created the ideal environment for a thrilling competition.
The full list of groups as follows:
- Group A: Cote d’Ivoire (hosts), Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau
- Group B: Egypt, Ghana, Cape Verde, Mozambique
- Group C: Senegal (holders), Cameroon, Guinea, Gambia
- Group D: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Angola
- Group E: Tunisia, Mali, South Africa, Namibia
- Group F: Morocco, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Tanzania
The four highest-ranked third-placed teams, all group runners-up, and group winners all advance to the knockout stage.
