After Death of Dozens in Gwoza Bombing, Chief of Defense Staff, Gen Musa Says Act Was Carried Out to Embarrass Tinubu’s Government

Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, has declared that the recent bombings in Gwoza and Pulka towns of Borno State, which resulted in significant loss of life, were orchestrated to shame the government.

General Musa made this assertion during a visit to Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang in Jos, emphasizing that despite the intentions of the perpetrators, their efforts to destabilize the country would not succeed.

Assuring the Nigerian populace, General Musa highlighted the relentless efforts of the Armed Forces and other security agencies to maintain peace and security across the nation.

He underscored the importance of prompt reporting of suspicious activities by citizens, emphasizing that such reports are crucial for preventing future attacks.

General Musa stated, “The Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and other security agencies are working tirelessly to ensure that there is peace and security in the country. What had happened in Gwoza shows clearly those that meant bad or evil for the country are not relenting. And so, we must continue to work heard.

“It was a deliberate thing to embarrass the government but they will not succeed. Recently, we were able to arrest some who have come with IED equipment trying to blow up some insulations. We will continue to work hard. Our appeal to Nigerians is those people perpetrating this evil act are within us.

“They sleep and leave within us. If we report as quickly as possible, actions would be taken. Security cannot be everywhere. We are not magicians. We also rely on human intelligence we are getting from the people. That is why we call on Nigerians that the responsibility to secure Nigeria depends on all Nigerians working together with security agencies. We are committed to ensure that is us achieved, “ he added.
