The Minister of Defense, Badaru Abubakar, has directed the troops of Operation Fansar Yamma to capture the notorious bandit leader, Turji, without delay.
He issued the directive during his visit to Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, where he addressed the troops at the One Brigade Headquarters.
The minister was welcomed by Major General Oluyinka Soyele, Commander of the Joint Taskforce Northwest Operation Fansar Yamma, and Zamfara State’s Deputy Governor, Malam Mani Mummuni.
The minister also relayed President Bola Tinubu’s commendation for the progress the troops have made in combating banditry in the region over the past few months.
“Bola Tinubu has recognised some level of improvement in the operation against terrorists in the region over the last few months,” he said.
“Tinubu has asked me to thank you and to also encourage you to do more in ending insecurity in these operational areas.
“He is ready to supply everything you need to eliminate insecurity in the Northwest and across Nigeria.”
“Are you ready to finish them off?”
“Are you ready to end banditry in this country?”
“Please get me Turji, dead or alive,” he added.
Bello Turji Kachalla, popularly known as Turji, is a notorious bandit leader operating in the North-western part of the country.
He is known to be involved in various terror activities including kidnapping, arson, shooting, rape, cattle rustling, killing, and looting.
