Laryea, a FIFA-badged referee since 2014, is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most experienced referees.

This marks his second match as a centre referee in AFCON 2025.

He previously officiated the group stage match between Algeria and Burkina Faso, which ended in controversy, and served as VAR in the quarter-final between Morocco and Cameroon.

Nigeria heads into the semi-final in strong form after eliminating Algeria in the quarter-finals, while Morocco will rely on home advantage as they chase their first AFCON title since 1976.
