May God Free Nigeria From these Horrors — Pope Francis Responds To Plateau Massacre

Nigeria

In the aftermath of the tragic attacks that took place in Plateau State, Nigeria, during the week following Christmas, Pope Francis has added his voice to the growing appeals for divine intervention to bring an end to the escalating violence in the region.

The attacks, carried out by Fulani terrorist on communities in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the north-central state, resulted in the loss of over 150 lives.

Additionally, numerous houses were razed, and properties were looted across approximately 17 communities.

Expressing his concern and solidarity on New Year’s Eve, Pope Francis took to X to share a message with global citizens.

He called for prayers “for the victims of the severe violence” and implored, “May God free Nigeria from these horrors!”
