Google Unveils Pixel 8, Smartwatch With AI Feature

Alphabet’s Google, on Wednesday, unveiled the Pixel 8 smartphones and a new smartwatch, which integrates its Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies more deeply into the company’s consumer gadgets.

Although sales of Google’s flagship Pixel smartphone are far behind those of Apple’s iPhones, but it is intended to demonstrate how Android products push the boundaries of technology.

The AI features can help with photography, summarizing web pages and blocking out spam calls, executives said at Made by Google event in New York on Wednesday.

With the Tensor G3 mobile processor, Google enhanced the Pixel lineup.

Users, Parallel Facts gathered, would be able to process more data on the device itself and in the cloud thanks to the new Google custom chip’s increased AI and machine learning capabilities.

The company also explains how the AI features may help with photography, summarising web pages, and eliminating spam calls.
 
The higher-end Pixel 8 Pro features a Thermometer app to measure body temperature, subject to approval by the Food and Drug Administration, according to Reuters report.
 
The Pixel 8 and Pixel Pro 8 start at $699 and $999, respectively, which is a $100 increase over the models from the previous iteration.

The products will be available on October 12.
