Gov Mutfwang Bans Blockade of Roads By Churches, Mosques in Plateau

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has banned all religious centres from blocking roads in the state.

Additionally, the governor has instructed the leadership of these religious centres to provide building approvals for their Churches and Mosques, issued by the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB), or face penalties.

In separate letters dated June 13, 2024, signed by JMDB General Manager Hart Bankat, the government stated that this decision is part of the implementation of Executive Order 003, signed by Governor Mutfwang.

Our correspondent gathered that these letters, issued on Saturday, were addressed to the state Chairmen of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI).

The JNI state secretary, Dr. Salim Musa Umar, confirmed receipt of the letter.
