In a response to a viral social media report, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Dodoh Okafor has vehemently denied allegations that he ordered the arrest of individuals invited to Umuahia under the guise of purported peace talks.

Dodoh Okafor, clarified, “Governor Alex Otti did not at any time order the arrest of anyone or group of people in connection with any remote or immediate event.”

The controversy stems from claims that the arrests occurred following the flag-off of the rehabilitation of Port Harcourt Road in Aba. The Otti administration views the road’s reconstruction as crucial for economic revitalization, echoing the vision of former Imo State Governor Sam Mbakwe.

Okafor dismissed reports of protests and an Umuahia invitation as baseless, asserting, “These agents of division must be made to know that Abians are now wiser and shall never allow anyone or group to mislead them with concocted tales.”

He insisted that the Governor remains steadfast in his commitment to rebuilding public infrastructure, addressing flooding issues, and fostering a business-friendly environment.
