A shocking tragedy unfolded in Thailand when a groom took the lives of three people, including his newlywed wife, before taking his own life during their wedding celebration.
The groom, 29-year-old Chaturong Suksuk, a former soldier and para-athlete, reportedly left the party abruptly and returned with a gun, shooting dead his wife, Kanchana Pachunthuek, 44, her mother, younger sister, and a wedding guest. Another guest was seriously injured.
Local media reported that guests had noticed the groom’s unhappiness during the party.
The police stated that Chaturong was intoxicated at the time and that his motive remained unclear.
He had legally purchased the gun and ammunition last year.
Speculation surrounding Chaturong’s motive centered on his insecurity about the 15-year age gap between him and his wife. However, police emphasized that this remained speculation.
Officers found eleven bullets at the scene of the shooting, which occurred in Wang Nam Khieo district. Chaturong, a former soldier, had lost one of his legs in a train accident.
