Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has issued a strong warning to the club’s management, stating he will leave if his demand for a smaller squad is not met.
Guardiola made the remarks following City’s 3-1 victory over Bournemouth on Tuesday, a result that keeps their hopes of finishing third in the Premier League alive.
The Spaniard expressed frustration over having to exclude players from matchday squads due to a large roster, saying it goes against his principles.

Guardiola stated, “I told the club I don’t want a big squad. I don’t want to put five, six players in the tribune, I don’t want that. I will quit.
“If they don’t make a short squad, I will not stay.
“It’s impossible for my soul to put players in the tribune and cannot play.”
Manchester City are currently battling for a Champions League spot alongside Chelsea, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest. With 68 points, City are two points ahead of Chelsea, Newcastle, and Villa, and three ahead of Forest.

A win against Fulham in their final match will secure third place for City. Their superior goal difference also means a draw could be enough.
The club’s disappointing season saw them lose the FA Cup final to Crystal Palace last weekend, confirming they will finish the campaign without a major trophy.
