Reign of Terror Continues: Gunmen Strike Again, Killing Traditional Ruler in Kwara State

In a devastating turn of events, yet another traditional ruler has fallen victim to the ruthless onslaught of unidentified gunmen in Kwara State. Oba Segun Aremu-Cole, the monarch of Koro town in Ekiti Local Government Area, met a tragic end when assailants stormed his palace on Thursday evening.

The gunmen brazenly opened fire, fatally striking the traditional ruler and leaving the community reeling in shock.

Adding to the horror, the wife of Oba Aremu-Cole was abducted by the assailants, further intensifying the anguish and fear gripping the region. Koro Ekiti, situated on the border with Egbe in Kogi State, has become the latest scene of violence in a series of targeted attacks on traditional rulers.

This heinous act comes on the heels of similar incidents in neighboring Ekiti State, where gunmen recently claimed the lives of two other traditional rulers. The Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti and the Elesun of Esun Ekiti fell victim to the violence while returning from a meeting, underscoring the growing insecurity plaguing the region.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, expressing his outrage and condemnation, issued a statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, denouncing the senseless killing of Oba Aremu-Cole. #Kwara
