Harassment From Immigration Service Has Stopped Me From Leaving Nigeria Again—Sowore

The 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, has accused the Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS of harassing him at the airport.

Sowore accused Immigration of attempting to prevent him from leaving Nigeria because his name is on their watchlist.

He disclosed this in a post he shared on his X page accompanied by a video.

His post reads,”The Nigerian Immigration Service @nigimmigration continues to subject me to unwarranted harassment and abuse.

“Violating my rights repeatedly. Today, again, they stopped me on my way out of Nigeria, claiming I am placed on their WATCHLIST! #RevolutionNow.”

Recall that in September, he was arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos State.

Upon his arrival, he was detained by the NIS and his international passport was confiscated.
