A customary court in Ibadan on Friday sentenced a 20-year-old man, Samuel John, to prison for stealing beans worth N20,000
The court’s president, Sukurat Yusuf, sentenced Mr. John to six months in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges of housebreaking and theft.
Ms. Yusuf handed down the sentence without the option of a fine and ordered that the convict be held at the Agodi Correctional Facility in Ibadan.
Prosecutor Philip Amusan informed the court that Mr. John committed the offenses on September 2, around 6:00 p.m., in the Omi-Adio area of Ibadan.

According to Mr. Amusan, the convict broke into Felicia Oni’s house and stole beans. The prosecutor stated that these actions violated Sections 411 and 390(9) of the Oyo State Criminal Laws, 2000.
