Hundreds of civil servants rallied against the prevailing economic challenges in Nigeria on Tuesday, in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Following directives from the national Nigeria Labour Congress, they took to the streets in a peaceful demonstration.
Chanting solidarity songs, they marched along the city’s main thoroughfares, brandishing placards with messages such as “Stop the hunger, lower food prices,”

“Fix the local refineries, end oil subsidy,” “Tax the rich, subsidize for the poor,” and “End naira devaluation, support local production.” Security personnel were present throughout the town to prevent any potential disruption by miscreants.
