As the UEFA Champions League clash between Barcelona and Napoli looms, Portuguese defender, João Cancelo, has hailed Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, labeling him as one of the finest strikers globally.
The Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Spain is set for an electrifying encounter on Tuesday night, with the tie delicately poised after a thrilling 1-1 draw in the first leg at the Diego Maradona Stadium.
Cancelo, recognizing Osimhen’s impactful performance in the first leg, hailed him as one of the best strikers globally, emphasising his ability to seize opportunities with precision.
The Nigerian striker showcased his prowess on the European stage with a clinical finish that swiftly answered Robert Lewandowski’s opener for Barcelona.
In an interview with Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport via Il Napolista, Cancelo also highlighted the exceptional talents of Matteo Politano, Piotr Zieliński, and Stanislav Lobotka, underlining Napoli’s formidable lineup.
Cancelo expressed admiration for Osimhen’s consistency and effectiveness under Napoli’s new coach, Francesco Calzona.
Cancelo stated, “And Politano? They are exceptional talents, Osimhen scored with half the ball in the first leg, he is one of the best strikers in the world.

“But there is more: I like Zielinski who can’t play because he is not on the list, and Lobotka, I faced him with Portugal and he is a great player.”
