Three people have been confirmed dead after a helicopter crashed into the waters near Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to Channels Television, the incident occurred at 11:22 a.m. on Thursday, along the waterways in Port Harcourt.
The helicopter, a Sikorsky SK76 with registration 5NBQG, operated by East Wind Aviation, was on a flight from the Port Harcourt Military Base (DNPM) to the Nuimantan oil rig.

There were eight people on board, according to Odutayo Oluseyi, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.
Authorities reported that the helicopter went down near Bonny Finima in the Atlantic Ocean, and rescue operations have been launched.
