In a recent development within Rivers State politics, Samuel Nwanosike, the local government chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, launched a scathing verbal attack on Governor Siminalayi Fubara, branding him a “foolish governor” and questioning his competence in governance.
The comments came amidst an ongoing power struggle between Fubara and former Governor Nyesom Wike, who currently serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
Nwanosike, a staunch supporter of Wike, made the controversial remarks while addressing his supporters at Omerelu Community.
The criticism was not confined to the spoken word, as Nwanosike later shared a video of his remarks on his official X platform.
He articulated, “Any day the likes of Chijioke sent by Fubara insults Wike, I’ll insult Fubara, so today, Fubara is a foolish Governor, he’s not a ‘mumu’ Governor but a foolish Governor because since he took office in May 29th, he has done nothing for Rivers people.”

Nwanosike further disclosed that the allegation that Wike wanted to pocket Rivers State is far from the truth, stating, Fubara “is very naive and doesn’t know what governance is all about. If he knows what governance is all about, by now, he would have been visiting Rivers State by the local government.
“Go and look at Igirita roundabout by Igirita market by Eleka Road; deathtrap, can’t move. Kidnapping everywhere in Rivers State and you say you’re a Governor,” he added.
