Political activist and co-founder of the #BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu has declared that the nation requires more active citizens rather than more activists.
Yesufu, reacting on her X handle, emphasized the importance of proactive civic participation in effecting meaningful change.
In her words: “Nigeria does not need more activists. Nigeria needs more active citizens.
“Nobody owes you a protest. If you are unhappy about an issue, hit the streets!,” she said.
Her remarks come amidst ongoing events in Kenya and challenges in Nigeria, including security concerns, economic hardship, and governance issues.
