How FG Spent ₦57.8 Billion On Christmas Palliatives

The federal government allocated N57.8 billion for the acquisition of rice intended for distribution to senatorial districts and federal constituencies through senators and House of Representatives members.

As part of the Christmas/End of Year Palliative Programme, each of the 360 representatives was anticipated to distribute trailer loads of rice valued at N100 million, while each of the 109 senators was expected to distribute rice worth N200 million.

However, several legislators have not yet received their rice deliveries. Some lawmakers who have already distributed the rice inadvertently attracted criticism, highlighting the delay in distribution by others.
