In a shocking revelation, parents of the kidnapped Ekiti pupils disclosed the unconventional means through which they secured the release of their children, including the payment of a staggering N15 million ransom, along with peculiar items like tramadol, fried rice, and energy drinks.
The abduction, which shook the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools in Emure-Ekiti, Emure LGA, saw five pupils and four teachers snatched away while returning home from school in a bus.
Speaking anonymously, one parent recounted the nerve-wracking ordeal, detailing the demands of the kidnappers, which included the peculiar request for tramadol, fried rice, and energy drinks, alongside the hefty ransom. The exchange took place in the dense bushes of Ondo state, with the parents trekking through the night to ensure the safe return of their loved ones.

Another parent revealed the tense negotiations and the kidnappers’ shifting demands, which ranged from remote drop-off locations to last-minute meal purchases.
While the police confirmed the children’s safe return, they remained tight-lipped about the ransom’s involvement, emphasizing the primary concern for the victims’ well-being.
