During a Sunday service in Abuja, Reverend Joshua Talena, a cleric and senior pastor of the Shepherd House Assembly International, Nigeria, expressed his belief that the current global unrest signals the approaching end times.
He emphasized that the scriptures foretell of widespread unrest, wickedness, hunger, and other evils in the final days.
Reverend Talena pointed to insecurity in certain regions of the country as evidence of these times, urging congregants not to lose hope.
He lamented the diminishing respect for human life and the rise in kidnappings driven by the pursuit of material wealth.
“Human lives are no longer respected. There is strange hunger in Nigeria; people are killed every day. People’s lives are no longer precious, no human compassion in the land, and iniquity and lawlessness are increasing.
“People are powerless and helpless, and we are in a time of peril,” he said.
As per the cleric’s message, the congregation faces challenging times marked by the acceptance of behaviors like homosexuality, lesbianism, and transgenderism in society.
He urged congregants to adopt a heightened sense of urgency, akin to the extra time in football matches, and to dedicate themselves more fervently to serving God.

“Ensure you represent Christ in your businesses, workplaces and communities; people should not stop serving God because of you,” he said.
He encouraged the members of the congregation to prepare themselves, emphasizing that death is inevitable for everyone.
Moreover, he emphasized the importance of being mindful of eternity.
