Peter Obi has urged his supporters, popularly known as OBIdients, not to lose faith following the current state of the nation.

He made this plea during X Space hosted by Parallel Facts on Sunday.

When asked about his message to OBIdients who have become disillusioned with the system following the 2023 presidential election results, he responded passionately, “I am kneeling down and begging you don’t get disillusioned; that’s what they want from you. We will stay together until we dismantle this criminality.”

Obi didn’t mince words when he spoke about the current leadership, stating, “The leadership today, people do not care, poverty everywhere, and its leaders are still behaving normal.”

He went on to outline his vision for responsible governance, stressing the importance of prioritising the needs of the people.

“We cannot be building a house now for somebody who already has a house,” he said.

He advocated for investment in health, education, and poverty alleviation.

“Cut your cost; a bankrupt person has to behave like a bankrupt person. The way we are going today is not the way someone who is bankrupt should go. Apply brakes on consumption,” he added.
