I Challenge Other Nigerian Politicians to Show Their Letters Rejecting Government Perks — Oseni Rufai Applauds Peter Obi’s Rejection of Land Allocation as Governor

Renowned broadcaster and journalist, Oseni Rufai, has challenged Nigerian politicians to show the public evidence of their rejection of government offers.

His outburst comes following a 2007 letter signed by the then-governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has resurfaced online, stirring admiration and praise from Nigerians who see it as proof of integrity in public office.

The letter shows Obi formally rejecting two plots of land allocated to him by the Anambra State Housing Development Corporation during his tenure.

The letter, dated May 8, 2007, and addressed to the Managing Director of the agency, Mr. Mike Nwafor, was shared by X user @Aikoges, who described the act as “the kind of leadership Nigeria desperately needs—principled and selfless.”

Reacting to the above, Rufai took to his official X handle and wrote,”challenge other Nigerian politicians to show us their letter to reject government perks! Challenge begins.”
