Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has firmly declared his loyalty to the party amidst rumours about his political allegiance.
Addressing Nigerians in a statement via his verified Twitter handle, He emphasized his commitment to the Labour Party following recent media reports that speculated about his political stance.
Speaking from Abuja airport, peter recounted a conversation with a journalist who questioned if his recent comments on the Obidient Movement signalled a departure from the Labour Party. In response to these speculations, Obi said, “For the attention of all those holding such an impression and for the general public, I remain a faithful, committed and loyal member of the Labour Party.”
Obi, the party leader, reiterated his dedication to working alongside other party leaders to strengthen the Labour Party and collaborate with like-minded individuals and groups across Nigeria. His goal, he stated, is to build a robust and improved party that will help reconstruct Nigeria.

“My aspiration and desire, working closely with other leaders, is to reconcile our valued members and partner with like minds and parties all over the country to build a strong and better party that will catalyze and commence the rebuilding of a new Nigeria,” Obi affirmed.
Obi explained that his statement the previous day aimed to address concerns among supporters, many of whom are not affiliated with any political party but are eager for change in Nigeria. He assured them that the vision for a new Nigeria remains intact.
“Our goal and aspirations remain that a new Nigeria is possible,” Obi stressed, reinforcing his commitment to the cause that has galvanized many Nigerians.
