The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed his belief that he is qualified to assume the role of the President of Nigeria, affirming that if the opportunity presents itself, he would embrace it.
In an exclusive interview with ARISE NEWS Anchor, Ojy Okpe, Governor Adeleke discussed his ongoing efforts in Osun State, emphasizing his dedication to elevating the state’s status.
When questioned about his future political aspirations and plans beyond his current gubernatorial term, Adeleke asserted, “I’m qualified to be the president of Nigeria, so why not? If God says that it’s time for me to become president, I will grab it and take care of my people. I’m not going to say no, anything can happen.”
The governor also highlighted the palliative measures he has implemented in Osun State to address challenges faced by the people. He mentioned forming committees and working tirelessly around the clock to ensure the greatness of Osun.
Adeleke acknowledged the significant debt he inherited and outlined his efforts in salary payments, pension disbursements, and healthcare for the benefit of the citizens.
Discussing the health sector, Adeleke shared his personal visits to primary healthcare centers and initiatives to provide free medical care to elders, including the registration of health cards for seamless access to treatment in other states. He underscored his commitment to road maintenance, both state and federal, and his pursuit of funds from the federal government for road projects.
Adeleke addressed plans for diverse sectors such as tourism, culture, entertainment, and the untapped potential in Osun State, including gold and bitumen resources. He refuted claims by the opposition party, stating that many road projects attributed to them were actually facilitated through federal government intervention.

Furthermore, Adeleke revealed his amicable relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing his belief that Tinubu’s presidency is in alignment with divine will.
He urged prayers for Tinubu’s success and the improvement of the people’s economic well-being. Adeleke concluded by emphasizing Osun State’s wealth and potential for growth under a focused and serious government.
