Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong has stated that in Nigeria, corrupt people are celebrated while irresponsible people are worshipped.
In a post on his official X handle, he described Nigeria as having a broken value system.
He further added that vanity and materialism are the religions of Nigerians.
“We live in a country with a broken value system.

“We celebrate the corrupt and worship irresponsible people. Vanity and materialism are religions in Nigeria.”
Reacting to his post, an X user Stephenia Omeh wrote,”If you try to fight for them – they will turn around and start fighting you. It’s a lost cause. The country needs serious reorientation

“Ini you can’t say more aptly said. Fortnight ago we witnessed a brazen corrupt mad cow saying he stole money to buy RR and nothing will happen. Our system is totally broken,” C added.
