Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Adamawa State took a pledge of impartiality in anticipation of the Mayo-Belwa State Constituency by-election scheduled for Saturday.
According to report, the by-election will occur across seven units within the constituency, featuring Ibrahim Musa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against Musa Mahmud of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
DAILY POST further notes that 28 polling officials, four collation officers, 13 supervisors, and four Registration Area Technical Support staff, among others, participated in the oath-taking ceremony.
Murtala Ibrahim, the Commissioner for Oath at the Federal High Court in Yola, emphasized the importance of fidelity to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria during the exercise.
He instructed the officials to execute their responsibilities diligently in accordance with Nigeria’s Constitution, the Electoral Act, and INEC’s guidelines.

Adamu Gujungu, the acting Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), encouraged the officials to carry out their duties with honesty and sincerity.
“Whatever that you will do, do it between you and your God and no other person,” he advised.
