Bayelsa Poll: INEC Postpones Collation Till Noon Today

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the collation of governorship election results from the local government areas in Bayelsa State until noon on Monday.

The announcement was made by the Head of Department, Mr. Wilfred Ifogah, Voter Education and Publicity, INEC office, Yenagoa, at the state’s collation centre on Sunday.

The state returning officer, Prof. Kuta Farouq, had earlier adjourned the exercise till 6 p.m. after the collation of results from the Sagbama, Nembe, and Ekeremor local government areas. However, results from the remaining two LGs—Brass and Southern Ijaw—were still being expected before the adjournment was announced.

Party agents, election observers, and journalists were present during the announcement. Further updates will follow as the situation unfolds.
