Former United States President Donald Trump has criticized President Joe Biden’s handling of the economy, claiming that rising inflation is severely impacting Americans.
During a presidential debate hosted by CNN in Atlanta, Georgia, Trump highlighted that the cost of living and rising prices have become major concerns as the November election approaches.
Trump argued that Biden’s economic policies are detrimental, stating, “He has not done a good job. He’s done a poor job.
“And inflation is killing our country. It is absolutely killing us.”
He further asserted that he left the presidency with minimal inflation, suggesting that the current administration’s actions have worsened the economic situation.
“I gave him a country with essentially no inflation. It was perfect. It was so good, all he had to do was leave it alone. He destroyed it,” he added.
The Federal Reserve has raised its key lending rate from nearly zero to a range of 5.25 to 5.50 percent, a two-decade high, to combat inflation.
This increase has resulted in higher borrowing costs for consumers and businesses, affecting mortgage rates, auto loans, and other economic activities in America.
