A group of terrorists, loyal to notorious warlord Bello Turji, launched a deadly raid on Bargaja village in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Friday night.
The attack left several residents dead and at least 10 others, mostly young women, abducted, according to security journalist Bakastine, who confirmed the incident.
“Terrorists loyal to Bello Turji stormed Bargaja village, leaving several people dead. One person was seriously injured, and at least 10 residents, mostly young women, were abducted,” he said,
He added that the assault threw the once-quiet rural community into panic and mourning.

Bakastine described the attack as a grim reminder of the ongoing threat of terrorist violence in northwest Nigeria, noting that rural communities like Bargaja are often left vulnerable with minimal warning or protection.
Eyewitnesses reported that the terrorists rode into the village on motorcycles, shooting sporadically and setting homes ablaze.

Many residents reportedly fled into nearby bushes to escape the violence.
The journalist said villagers are now calling on authorities to intensify security patrols and rescue efforts for the abducted victims.
This attack adds to a long history of atrocities linked to Bello Turji’s faction, which has been terrorising parts of Sokoto, Zamfara, and Katsina States despite ongoing military operations in the region.
