The Lagos State chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Olusegun Mobolaji, has called upon Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to adopt a governance approach that is more inclusive and participatory in nature. This call to action was made in a statement released on Sunday, coinciding with Mr. Mobolaji’s birthday celebrations.
Mr. Mobolaji highlighted the necessity for the state government to engage more actively with stakeholders across different political spectrums, particularly with IPAC, to enhance the democratic process within the state. He expressed concerns over the current level of interaction and cooperation between the state government and IPAC, stating that it falls short of what is required for the effective administration of the state’s affairs.
The chairman stressed that inclusivity in governance is pivotal for the advancement of the state and that it is essential to involve all relevant parties, irrespective of their political leanings. He pointed out that IPAC has been underutilized in its advisory capacity and urged the state government to strengthen its ties with the council, which represents the leadership of various registered political entities.

Moreover, Mr. Mobolaji acknowledged the efforts of Governor Sanwo-Olu in areas such as transportation, education, health, and economic development, as well as his initiatives to mitigate the impact of fuel subsidy removal through the distribution of palliatives.
In his plea for a non-partisan approach to governance, Mr. Mobolaji emphasized the importance of serving all citizens equitably, fostering a sense of unity, and ensuring that the benefits of a robust democracy and political system are accessible to everyone. He also called for the development of additional programs aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by the populace.
Mr. Mobolaji urged the governor to review the performance of certain state agencies, including the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Vehicles Inspection Service, and other task forces, which he believes have not met public expectations. He underscored the value of collaborating with IPAC, given its grassroots connections and insights.
In closing, Mr. Mobolaji extended his gratitude to the Lagos State APC chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, for his support and contributions at the IPAC level, where he serves as the secretary.
