Iran has prolonged the closure of its airspace, anticipating possible Israeli retaliation after its attack on Israel on Tuesday evening.
According to the state news agency ISNA, citing an aviation authority spokesman, all flights have been canceled until 5 a.m. (0130 GMT) on Thursday to ensure aviation safety.
The airspace over Tehran was initially closed, and flights were suspended until Wednesday morning following Iran’s missile attack on Israel on Tuesday night.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that the attack was in response to the deaths of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah, and an Iranian general.
According to Iran, the targets included three Israeli air bases and the headquarters of Mossad, Israel’s foreign intelligence service.
