In a recent development, Yahya Rahim Safavi, an advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, has publicly expressed support for the Palestinian attacks on Israel. This comes in the wake of what has been reported as the largest attack on Israel in recent years.
Safavi congratulated the Palestinian fighters for their efforts and pledged Iran’s continued support. He was quoted as saying, “We will stand by the Palestinian fighters until the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem”.
The attack was carried out by Hamas, a Palestinian group, which launched a heavy barrage of rockets from the Gaza Strip into several Israeli towns. The incident has escalated tensions in the region and drawn international attention.
In a show of solidarity with the Palestinians, Iran’s state television broadcasted images of parliament members rising from their seats to chant “Death to Israel” and “Palestine is victorious, Israel will be destroyed”.
