Israeli Strike on Vehicle in Gaza Injures Four Palestinians

At least four Palestinians were wounded on Sunday when an Israeli aircraft targeted a vehicle on the coastal road west of Nuseirat camp in central Gaza.

Initial reports from medics suggested a young boy had been killed, but later, they confirmed he had been resuscitated.

The Israeli military stated that the airstrike targeted a “suspicious vehicle” moving towards northern Gaza outside the inspection route outlined in the ceasefire agreement.

“The IDF is prepared for any scenario and will continue to take necessary actions to thwart any immediate threat to IDF soldiers,” the military stated.

Since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect on January 19, several Palestinians have been killed in Israeli fire. Israel claims its forces have responded to threats posed by suspicious or armed individuals, while Hamas has condemned these incidents as violations of the truce.

Under the first phase of the ceasefire, 33 hostages—children, women, older men, and those with medical conditions—were set for release, with 18 already freed. More than 60 military-age male hostages remain captive, pending further negotiations.

Talks on the second phase of the agreement, including the release of remaining hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli troops, are scheduled to begin by Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Hamas has accused Israel of delaying the humanitarian provisions of the ceasefire, saying essential medical, relief, fuel, and reconstruction supplies have not yet been permitted entry into Gaza as agreed.
