Jaiz Bank Receives Massive Backlash From Nigerians For Appointing Renowned Bigot, Agent of Bad Governance Omojuwa as Ambassador

Jaiz Bank is facing a wave of criticism from Nigerians following its decision to appoint renowned bigot, agent of bad governance and political influencer JJ Omojuwa as its brand ambassador.

Many citizens have taken to social media platform X to accuse the bank of endorsing division and bad governance by choosing Omojuwa, whom critics describe as a “renowned bigot” with a history of anti-Igbo sentiments.

Some Nigerians argue that the bank’s decision was insensitive, describing it as a direct affront to the Igbo people.

“With this, Jaiz Bank gives the Igbo people the middle finger, and it will be remembered,” one user wrote, calling on Igbos to close their accounts with the bank in protest.

An X user, Godswill Nwankwo, went further to allege that Omojuwa himself had once disclosed how Jaiz Bank planned to “transfer corporate losses to their banking customers,” describing it as “the highest level of criminality by a bank.”

Similarly, another user, Olamilekan A, vowed to ask his family members to close their accounts, writing, “For choosing a certified bigot as an ambassador… Omojuwa is as unstable as NEPA.”

Iyke, another concerned Nigerian, labelled the decision “a careless mistake,” stressing that a national financial institution cannot afford to elevate “a man openly hostile to Igbos as its face.”

The controversy has sparked a wider debate about corporate accountability, the ethics of brand endorsements, and the importance of inclusivity in Nigeria’s banking sector.
