The Jigawa State Government has approved ₦4,836,546,000 for this year’s Ramadan Feeding Programme.
This was announced by the State Commissioner of Information, Mr. Sagir Musa, during a press briefing on Monday night following the latest council meeting at the Government House in Dutse.

Musa stated that the Ramadan Feeding programme’s funding will be shared between the state and local government administrations, with the state government covering 55% of the total cost, while the remaining 45% will be shouldered by the local governments.

Accordingly, Musa pointed out that “the council has approved the full package of three different meals per person, which includes Kunu, Kosai, and Jollof rice, with provision for 300 persons per centre.”
The Information Commissioner who also stated that the council approved the revitalisation of 114 ward-level Primary Health Care Centers across the state, stressed that “the project, which is valued at N9,778,830,388.00, aims at improving healthcare services in the state.”

More importantly, Musa pointed out that the project is part of the state government’s commitment to Universal Health Care coverage.
He maintained that “the council has approved the revitalisation of the Primary Health Care Centers under the Immunisation Plus and Malaria Progress for Accelerating Coverage and Transforming Services (IMPACT) Programme of the World Bank.”#Ramadan
