Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, has accused his elder brother, Jude Okoye, of fraudulently siphoning millions of dollars in royalties from P-Square’s earnings.
In a statement released on X, Peter revealed that Jude and his wife, Ifeoma Okoye, established a secret company named Northside Music, which closely resembled their official management company, Northside Entertainment. This company was allegedly used to divert substantial sums of money from P-Square’s royalties over several years.
Peter claimed that despite repeated confrontations with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, about the missing royalties, he received consistent denials.
Upon investigation, Peter discovered that Jude and Ifeoma Okoye were directors of Northside Music, which had been operating from the family home of Ifeoma.
Peter disclosed, “To my shock, the founders and directors of this secret company were none other than JUDE Okoye and his wife, Ifeoma Okoye, and the registered address was the family home of JUDE’s wife.
“I knew I had to talk to PAUL about it. I approached him multiple times… Each time I met with him, he denied knowing anything about it.”
Following the discovery, Peter instructed his legal team to focus solely on Jude and Ifeoma, excluding Paul from suspicion.
The situation escalated when Peter, after failing to get answers from Paul and Jude, reported the matter to the EFCC.
During questioning, Jude admitted to diverting funds into the secret account, although he contended that payments to Paul were related to a debt from a property sale, not an attempt to exclude Peter from the earnings.
“JUDE was then detained after being questioned. He came clean and admitted he had been diverting millions of dollars of our money to this secret company that he and his wife were the directors of,” Peter explained.
“All of JUDE’s bank accounts were immediately frozen… PAUL’S name was never mentioned in the petition because he was never a director of this secret company.”
Peter also clarified that he never attempted to use the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to target his twin brother, Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy, despite the claims made by Paul in a recent interview.
Peter’s statement, titled “I Never Attempted or Tried to Use the EFCC to Arrest My Twin Brother PAUL,” also addressed the common misconception that P-Square’s internal conflicts are merely family matters.
He emphasised that while their personal lives are private, P-Square is a public brand that belongs to their fans as much as to the family, making it necessary to share the truth behind recent events.
“Our fans have played a significant role in our success, so they have the right to know what’s happening with their beloved brand P-SQUARE.”
Peter ended his statement by promising to release more details, including the EFCC’s final report, bank statements, and other relevant documents.
