South African Politician Julius Malema Slams Elon Musk Over Sanctions Call, Calls Him ‘A Racist, Spoiled Brat

South African politician and Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has hit back at billionaire businessman and Tesla CEO Elon Musk after the latter called for international sanctions against him.

Musk’s demand came after a resurfaced video from 2018 showed Malema making controversial remarks about targeting white politicians, specifically Nelson Mandela Bay Mayor Athol Trollip.

In the video, Malema stated that the EFF would remove Trollip “because the mayor of DA in PE is a white man” and added, “We are starting with this whiteness. We are cutting the throat of whiteness.”

On Sunday, Musk reacted to the video, calling Malema’s comments a “serious crime” and tweeting: “Immediate sanctions for Malema and declaration of him as an international criminal!”

Malema wasted no time in responding, dismissing Musk’s remarks as uninformed and racially biased. In a strongly worded statement, he said: “I really think you have entirely lost your left brain: a typical spoiled brat and direct beneficiary of Apartheid whiteness. I know black people look the same to you, typical racist. Look closer, and you will realize those are two different people. America is exposing us to its stupidity.

He further emphasized his commitment to fighting racial inequality, adding: “I don’t care about your sanctions; I will never stop fighting for black people to be equal to white people, and if that makes me an international criminal, I am proud to be.”

The exchange has reignited debates over race relations in South Africa, as well as the role of international figures like Musk in the country’s political discourse.

While Malema has long been a polarizing figure due to his fiery rhetoric on land reform and racial justice, Musk’s intervention has drawn mixed reactions, with some supporting his call for action while others view it as foreign interference in South African politics.
