JUST IN: Gunmen Ambush Dangote Staff Bus, Kidnap Dozens

Gunmen suspected to be bandits abducted an unspecified number of Dangote Cement workers on Monday, with several workers reportedly shot during the incident.

Witnesses described confusion regarding the exact number of casualties and the severity of injuries.

Peoples Gazette reported that the attack occurred in Okpella, a town near Okene, where the coaster bus carrying staff was ambushed.

According to Peoples Gazette, a witness recounted the ordeal, stating, “They kidnapped our entire staff bus. Other people are in the bush. My colleague sustained bullet wounds.”

Michael Odofin, a spokesperson for Okpella Cement Plc, confirmed the attack and abduction but declined to provide detailed information.

“I cannot give any details right now. The attack is still fresh. We have no one killed,” said Mr Odofin.

However, police authorities in Kogi State are yet to issue a statement regarding this development.
