JUST IN: JUSUN Commences Indefinite Strike in Osun

JUSUN

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Osun State Chapter, has commenced an indefinite industrial action with immediate effect.

The announcement came on Wednesday from the chapter’s chairman, Oluwagbenga Olakunle Eludire.

The decision to strike follows intense protests on Monday and Tuesday by Osun JUSUN members, who raised serious allegations of maladministration against the embattled Osun Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo.

Among the accusations, JUSUN members claimed that Justice Adepele Ojo unduly persecuted certain staff members and withheld entitlements, including the restoration of training exercises, arrears of wardrobe allowances dating from 2021 to 2023, and the reinstatement of suspended judiciary staff in the state.

As the strike takes effect, it adds another layer of tension to the ongoing dispute, further highlighting the dissatisfaction and discontent among Osun State’s judiciary staff regarding the alleged actions of Chief Judge Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo.

“Regularization and promotion exercises without further delay should be effected.

“Also, other benefits that members of JUSUN are entitled to should be effected without further delay.”
