Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has approved the expenditure of ₦502 million for the procurement of 10 water pumps to enhance the efficiency of the Tamburawa and Chalawa water treatment plants.
This decision was reached during the 17th State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Kano.
According to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, the procurement underscores the administration’s commitment to improving public infrastructure and services.
“The procurement of the water pumps is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and public services in Kano state,” said Bature.
He emphasized the importance of the Tamburawa and Chalawa plants in supplying clean water to Kano’s expanding population. The new factory pump machines are expected to significantly increase the capacity and efficiency of these plants, ensuring a more reliable water supply for residents.
“This investment will address current challenges and meet the increasing demand for water in our communities,” Bature noted.
The council also approved various other infrastructure projects, demonstrating the government’s dedication to comprehensive development throughout the state. These initiatives aim to enhance public services and infrastructure, contributing to Kano’s overall well-being and economic growth.
