Kano’s Education Crisis: 4.7 Million Pupils Learning on Bare Floors; Failure of Govt, Indictment on Wealthy Individuals – Shehu Sani

Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker, has lamented the unfortunate situation where 4.7 million schoolchildren in Kano State are reportedly learning while sitting on the bare floor.

This comes after Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf accused the previous administration, led by Abdullahi Ganduje of neglecting the education sector.

Yusuf claimed that upon assuming office in May 2023, his administration discovered that approximately 4.7 million pupils were sitting on the bare floor in primary schools throughout the state.

Reacting, Shehu Sani, in a post on his official X handle on Friday, ascribed the development to the “failure of responsibility by successive governments.”

According to him, “The revelations made by the Kano State Governor that 4.7 million pupils are sitting on a bare floor in Kano schools is sad and unfortunate.”

“It’s the failure of successive Governments in the State.”

“There are over a thousand wealthy people in Kano who can solve that problem in 24 hours. This is an indictment on them,” he added.
