Katsina Residents Rally to Aid Police With Intel on Wanted Terrorists After N50 Million Reward Promise

Residents of Katsina have actively engaged in providing crucial information to the police following an announcement by the Katsina State Police Command offering a substantial reward of N50 million for details leading to the capture of notorious terroristkingpins, Modi Modi and Jan Kare.

The police had issued a special bulletin urging citizens to contribute valuable insights that could aid in the arrest of these criminal elements operating within Kankara and Safana Local Government Areas.

Since the announcement, Katsina residents have been responding fervently, demonstrating a strong commitment to enhancing security efforts in the state. The overwhelming influx of credible information has been met with appreciation from the Katsina State Police Command, highlighting the significance of community involvement in the fight against criminal activities.

Police spokesman, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, expressed gratitude for the community’s response, acknowledging the need to carefully sift through the received information to identify leads crucial to apprehending the wanted criminals.

Aliyu told Punch, “We have been receiving an avalanche of information from the people on the two bandits kingpins and even criminals generally in the state since our bulletin was out.

“The command is very appreciative of the people’s response. But, you know, we must sieve through the information to bring out the one that will lead to the arrest of the bandits kingpins.

“We are encouraged by peoples’ response and the command will implore them to keep on sending information not only on the two bandits kingpins but on criminals generally in the state so that the state would be rid of the criminals.”
